Luxor unveiled

Luxor Unveiled is a private horse riding holiday through Luxor combining culture, adventure and unforgettable moments beyond traditional tourism.

 highlights

The following itinerary is our suggestion and can be tailored to your interests.

Welcome to Luxor! Upon your arrival, you will be warmly welcomed and picked up directly from the airport before being transferred to your hotel. After check-in, you’ll have some time to relax and settle in before we head to our stable to meet our horses for the first time. While sipping on a refreshing welcome drink, get to know their unique characters and watch them move freely in our small paddock, surrounded by the magical atmosphere of our 1001 Nights–inspired stable. Later, we’ll enjoy dinner together at a traditional restaurant, where you’ll experience authentic Egyptian cuisine in a beautiful oriental setting — the perfect way to begin your journey with Lala Land Luxor.

Day 1

Start your day with a scenic ride through Luxor’s farmlands, where you’ll step into authentic rural life and watch farmers working the fields alongside their animals. If you wish, you may also visit a local veterinary hospital for a unique glimpse into animal care in Egypt. On the way back, we stop at a farm where you can watch traditional bread being baked in a clay oven. While lunch is prepared with seasonal ingredients, you can explore the farm and discover how Egyptians cultivate crops like potatoes, eggplants, and more. After lunch, we continue by car to the magnificent Karnak Temple — one of Egypt’s most iconic sites. Walk through its timeless columns and sacred spaces at your own pace or with a guided tour that brings its history to life. The rest of the afternoon is yours to relax. As the sun begins to set, you may enjoy the view from the pool area of your hotel before heading out to experience the magical, illuminated Luxor Temple under the night sky. Stroll through the vibrant oriental market before ending your day with dinner at El Sahaby Lane, one of Luxor’s best-rated restaurants.

Day 3

Your day begins before sunrise as we head to Luxor’s West Bank. Close to where the hot air balloons take off, we saddle up and ride through peaceful farmlands while they rise into the soft morning light — calm, surreal, and unforgettable. We continue our ride towards the magnificent Medinet Habu Temple, where we take a pause to explore the ancient complex. After the ride we continue by car to the legendary Valley of the Kings, the final resting place of Egypt’s pharaohs, hidden deep within the desert mountains. For lunch, enjoy a traditional Egyptian Koshary — a simple but iconic dish full of authentic local flavor. The afternoon is yours to relax and soak in the atmosphere before enjoying a peaceful sunset boat ride on the Nile. Finish the day with dinner at Sultana, a local restaurant known for its warm atmosphere.

Day 4

Enjoy a slow, peaceful morning at your own pace — relax by the pool, explore the city, or simply take in the calm rhythm of Luxor. In the afternoon, we head into the desert, where the landscape slowly transforms into endless golden silence. On the way, there is an optional stop at the small Temple of Tod, a hidden and tranquil glimpse into ancient history away from the crowds. Deep in the desert then, we set off on horseback across soft, golden sand. Long, flowing canters and vast open space create moments of pure freedom, far away from everything familiar. We pause at beautiful dunes, perfect for unforgettable photos in the warm desert light. As the sun begins to set, the desert turns gold and the world feels still. In this magical setting, we enjoy freshly prepared tea and a traditional dinner, surrounded only by silence, space, and the fading light of day. After this unforgettable experience, you’ll be comfortably transferred back to your hotel.

Day 5

Your day begins with a peaceful crossing to Luxor’s West Bank. From there you will first visit the magnificent Temple of Hatshepsut, a striking architectural masterpiece rising dramatically from the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. A place that reflects both power and elegance, carved into the mountains of ancient Thebes. We then continue to Deir el-Medina, the village of the artisans who once built and decorated the royal tombs of the Valley of the Kings. Walking through this site offers a rare and intimate glimpse into the daily life of ancient Egypt’s craftsmen. For lunch, we pause at a Nubian House along the Nile and enjoy a delicious homemade lunch. In the afternoon, the rhythm of the day shifts again as we set out on a sunset ride from the fertile Nile banks towards the open desert, following the changing light as it transforms the landscape. On our way, we stop in a small, modest village to share tea with a local family, who also guide us through their community — a simple and genuine encounter that brings you closer to everyday life in rural Egypt. We then return to the East Bank, where you will have time to freshen up for our final dinner together at the stable, ending the day after an experience filled with history, culture, and unforgettable riding.

After breakfast, it’s time to check out of the hotel and prepare for your onward or return journey. Depending on your flight time, there may still be an opportunity to enjoy a final glimpse of local life: we can visit Luxor’s local fruit and vegetable market, filled with vibrant colors, rich scents, and an authentic everyday atmosphere — or return to the tourist market to pick up some final souvenirs and gifts before your departure. Before leaving, we return once more to the stable to say a final goodbye to the horses – a special and heartfelt moment to end your journey. Afterwards, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure or onward travels. We hope to see you again soon!
