Lala Land is the result of a shared love for horses, Egypt, and the simple idea of creating a place where both horses and people feel at home.
From a chance encounter to a place called home
Lala Land began with a feeling. In 2017, Lala first arrived in Luxor and felt an immediate connection to the city. There was something about its timeless atmosphere, the Nile, the horses, and the warmth of its people that kept drawing her back. What started as a holiday soon became something much more meaningful.
Where it all began
During one of her visits to Luxor, Lala attended a traditional Egyptian horse dancing show. That evening, she met Hamada — a passionate horseman whose life had always been closely connected to horses and Egypt’s equestrian traditions. But it was not Hamada who caught her attention first. It was his magnificent black stallion, Moataz.
Hamada’s stable was located on Luxor’s East Bank, just a short walk from Lala’s hotel. She began visiting regularly, often arriving with apples for the horses. With every visit, she became more attached to the animals, the stable and the people around it. What had once been a place she visited during her holidays slowly began to feel like home.
A shared dream
Over time, Lala and Hamada began imagining something bigger. They wanted to create a place where guests could experience a different side of Luxor — one that went beyond simply visiting the famous temples and monuments. A place where people could meet the horses, ride through the landscapes around Luxor, discover Egyptian traditions and experience the warmth of local life. The idea for Lala Land was born. The vision was simple: Create meaningful experiences around horses, culture and the real spirit of Egypt.
Rebuilding from the ground up
Turning that vision into reality was not easy. The old stable needed a complete transformation. Almost everything had to be rebuilt, improved and modernized — with one priority above all: creating a safe, comfortable and welcoming home for the horses. Construction began in January 2025.For months, Lala and Hamada worked step by step to transform the old space into the stable they had imagined. It was not simply a renovation. It was the beginning of Lala Land.
Lala Land Luxor today
In May 2025, the new stable was officially opened. Today, Lala Land is home to 12 horses and welcomes guests from around the world. But while the stable has changed dramatically, the original idea has remained the same: We want our guests to experience Luxor through more than its monuments. We want them to slow down, meet the horses, discover the landscapes, share moments with local people and take home memories that feel personal. Because for us, Lala Land is not just a horse stable. It is a place where our love for horses, Egypt and meaningful experiences come together.
